I had that too; they come and go often, sadly, nothing to do.

Yeah, SQL crashes. That's why I always program my php in flatfiles. Faster, safer, easier.

Hi friends, I need your help. I want to play GTA IV, but sadly, my graphics card sucks, it's an ATI Radeon HD4350, pretty bad. So, I need you to recommend me a nice card for playing new games.

My system is

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 2.50 GHz
4,0 GB RAM

Find the motherboard manual that came with your computer.

See if it has any "PCI - E" (PCI Express) slots. Not "PCI", but "PCI E". If it does, then you should get the newest card that you can afford:
http://www.asus.com/AllProducts.aspx?PG_ID=r3EWBZcGQvxHvrb4

If you don't have a "PCI - E" (PCI Express) slot, then you probably have an "AGP" slot. See that same page, just scroll down a little.

Either way you should also pay attention to the maximum voltage of the card you can give to your motherboard.

More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agp and here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express

I normally don't know anything about computers, but I have that same problem so I've done a lot of homework about this.

I'd get this one: http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=mUfimOrLDCnPAFJk 8-)
But the best one my motherboard can handle is this one: http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=pAsBPAoZ7MObqZTY

merci

From the thread: http://epsilonproject.forumavie.com/cooool-beta-house-vt691.html

In real L.A.,it is famous..

a dirty shame R* changed it from the Beta version...

...the Beta one was cooler. But at least !!you can..store !! => " Sea-Sparrow " on the roof of...
the garage, permanently at beginning of game, with access to it from before " Big Smoke " 8-)

Here's how;
during mission " In the beginning "
http://epsilonproject.forumavie.com/vp11558.html#p11558

The reason the sea sparrow trick works, is a text file inside the game. Somebody at R* didn't take into account the proper height of the garage. You will find it also works on your garage in Doherty sometimes. If you want to extend any garage outside you just need to edit the correct IPL file.

A little off topic but here is how to mod your garage to store vehicles outside as you do in GTA IV.

For this example, I am going to the garage in Doherty, San Fierro. I am going to enlarge it. You can find this file in the directory: data\maps\SF\SFSe.ipl

Code:
grge
-1941.04, 251.714, 33.4274, -1941.04, 239.541, -1930.66, 251.714, 38.6634, 1, 1, mdsSFSe
-1908.93, 292.353, 40.0413, -1908.93, 277.989, -1900.11, 292.353, 45.539, 1, 5, sprsfse
-2112.48, -21.214, 34.303, -2102.48, -21.214, -2112.48, -11.214, 40.303, 1, 1, brgSFSE
-2043.1, 118.609, 27.821, -2021.91, 118.609, -2043.1, 129.609, 32.821, 1, 41, LCKSfse
-2057.35, 150.803, 27.8286, -2038.91, 150.803, -2057.35, 182.876, 33.2286, 1, 1, hbgdSFS
end

The garage is LCKSfse line above, the first 3 coords is the Southwest lower most corner. The next 2 numbers are the Southeast corner without z elevation. The next 3 are the Northwest upper most corner. There are two flags that tell what type the garage and the game ID.

I use # to comment out the original garage. You can now park a maverick or helicopter on top of the current garage rooftop. If you have the helicopter placed properly, it will vanish as the door closes. It reappears when the door opens. You can use an ambulance to get back on top of the roof.

Here I expanded the garage outwards toward the North and West...

Code:
grge
-1941.04, 251.714, 33.4274, -1941.04, 239.541, -1930.66, 251.714, 38.6634, 1, 1, mdsSFSe
-1908.93, 292.353, 40.0413, -1908.93, 277.989, -1900.11, 292.353, 45.539, 1, 5, sprsfse
-2112.48, -21.214, 34.303, -2102.48, -21.214, -2112.48, -11.214, 40.303, 1, 1, brgSFSE
#-2043.1, 118.609, 27.821, -2021.91, 118.609, -2043.1, 129.609, 32.821, 1, 41, LCKSfse
-2043.1, 118.609, 27.821, -2021.91, 118.609, -2064.4604, 187.1101, 60.821, 1, 41, LCKSfse
-2057.35, 150.803, 27.8286, -2038.91, 150.803, -2057.35, 182.876, 33.2286, 1, 1, hbgdSFS
end

So now I can park cars in the front lot. But when the door closes they do a space ghost and disappear and reappear when you return to the area. You are still limited on how many you can store in the area.

There was someone at gtaforums that has a mod for a parking lot. The restrictions of the game itself limited his (garage modded parking lot) to 80 vehicles. It also failed to properly remember mods done to your cars at the Transfender shops. But my thought at the time was wow a parking lot of 80 cars. That also was a CLEO mod not good for ver 2.0.

However I would like to clear up some confusion about GTA version 2.0 being "mod proof". What most people mean is the CLEO add on is made to operate with version 1.0 and all you need is a copy of the version 1.0 gta_sa.exe file. They refer to a downgrade "patch" but the patch does nothing more than backup and replace your current file with an older file. R* removed some of the animations but left in others such as the oral sex. The patch doesn't replace these.

Version 2 can still be modded to some degree. This version checks your IMG files size to see if you modded any models. I don't know if it checks ALL the files or not. There are tools currently available to add models but it has been more popular to just download the version 1 "patched" executable instead. You can always try a simple test by making a back up copy of the file you are going to edit. There has also been issues with Vista's "virtual protection" but many byp@ss this by installing to a custom folder (such as the desktop) and not the default under "program files". However this protection is the fault of the OS and not the game. I still run XP to this day, while my brother runs Linux ever since Vista came out.

Grand Master RandomE wrote:
I've tryd the "downgrade patch". It causes the game to crash after every like 2 to 5 minutes. I've read that there are many others who have problems with it. I guess R* heard about it when v2.00 was still new and decided to change something about the game, but still call it v2.00.

Also, a saved game from the modified game is nolonger compatible with an unmodified game.

At lest v2.00 allowes me to edit the handling.

And I should probably point out that if we're going to continue this off topic discussion, then we should do it at the "Console help" thread: http://epsilonproject.forumavie.com/console-help-vt658.html

Jabhacksoul wrote:
Sorry about jacking the thread. I just had to rant about it because some mod sites "claim" that the patch is legal and it is not. I have pointed out that you really don't own the software. The money you pay is for a "EULA: End User License Agreement" which basically says that if you do ANY changes this voids the agreement. Again sorry for the OT rant.

So back to the show...

I've never had any problems with downgrading with the downgrader patch, are you sure your selecting the proper area?

Yes I'm sure. But whatever. I'm not gonna try to modify San Andreas anymore. That's what GTA IV is for. ;)
